In the context of the quarry's immediate environment, formed from black basalt, and the traces of the past industrial mining at Hohen Hagen, all installations should be designed in a monolithic way if possible, but still follow a simple clear story form. Chosen for all of these were solid steel constructions, which according to the original plans should specifically be manufactured from raw steel, so that they would take on a natural rusty brown after only a short period of time. Unfortunately, the client was not impressed with this variant. As you can now see, all of the constructions are hot-dipped galvanized. Very robust information boards are directly attached to the lecterns. Thus, there is no requirement for annoying frames or other mountings. The information boards were designed by our partner company, geographic based in Aachen.
