On behalf of the Eifel National Park authority seven visitor centers have been furnished with Interactive Terrain Models which receive a central function as a source of information and as a visitors guide. The National Park focusses its information concept in particular on the unique visualization potential of this instrument. Through this investment consistent information is provided in currently four visitor centers in the periphery of the park.The Interactive Terrain Models allow for the synthesis of unlimited spatial data within one compact installation. This saves space whilst guaranteeing full access to a wide range of fully visualized and animated thematic fields at the same time. The setup of the interactive models is geared to be used by individual visitors and through guided presentations for larger groups.
